This page has not yet had a formal legal review. It states our intent in plain language rather than settled legal terms. If you need a legal determination about use of our content, contact us directly.

What this site is

The Dalit Project is an independent editorial magazine of analysis, opinion, and data journalism on caste, published from Australia. Nothing on this site is legal, medical, or financial advice, regardless of subject matter.

Using our content

You're welcome to quote, link to, and share our work with clear attribution to The Dalit Project and a link back to the original piece — that's how we want our reporting to travel. Republishing a piece in full, or substantial portions of one, requires our permission first: emailhello@dalitproject.org. Unless a piece states otherwise, all original text, images, and data visualizations on this site are © The Dalit Project.

Where we've licensed or credited someone else's photo, illustration, or dataset, that material belongs to its original source under the license stated in the credit line — our permission doesn't extend to it.

External links

We link to primary sources, government data, and other outlets throughout our pieces. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or their own privacy practices.

No warranty

We report and edit carefully, and correct errors visibly when we find them (see ourCorrections Policy) — but the site and its content are provided as is, without a warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Editorial independence

Nothing on this site is paid placement or undisclosed sponsored content. Any financial, organizational, or political tie between a contributor and the subject of their piece is disclosed in the piece itself. See Governance for our funding and editorial-independence policy.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
